Abi Phillips

Abi Phillips (born 1994) is an English actress, singer and songwriter. She is best known for playing Liberty Savage in Channel 4 British soap-opera Hollyoaks.

Career

Abi was born in Birmingham, West Midlands but currently has her own apartment in Liverpool due to work commitments.

Abi wrote a song called 'Missing You' and sent it to the production team of British soap opera Hollyoaks. The song was featured in the show for long-term cast member Carley Stenson's final scenes.[1] The song was released on iTunes on 3 December 2010. The programme offered Phillips a chance to audition for a role in the show. She was successful and began portraying character Liberty Savage[1]

In April 2011, Abi revealed on her official website that she is currently writing and working on her debut album and single 'Summer Sunshine' which has been given an official release of July 31st. The single features popular rapper Fugative. The song's music video was uploaded onto Youtube on June 21st 2011.

In May 2011, Abi offered a free sample of a song she recorded called 'Somebody Without You'. Abi is also working on new song 'I Ran Over Your Baby And Kept Driving'. The song was promoted on the Hollyoaks website as a freebie for Hollyoaks fans and talks of a new music video, featuring upcoming London rap artist Dogtorturer, is in the works.

In August 2011 Abi climbed Mt Snowdon for the checkemlads.com charity which helps young men going through testicular cancer

Music

On July 31st 2011, Phillips performed her debut single 'Summer Sunshine' at the T4 annual event T4 on the Beach 2011 in which she performed on the sessions stage. The scenes of Phillips' performance are due to air on Hollyoaks 12th July 2011. Abi also announced to fans on her Twitter account that herself, Jorgie Porter (Theresa McQueen) and Craig Vye (Ethan Scott) were set to film scenes at the event.

That year, the Daily Mail named Phillips one of "five talented young actresses destined to become tomorrow’s superstars".[2]
